  • Chewy

    Born Approx 2022 - Male - 45 lbs

Meet Chewy! Our happy go-lucky boy who may have the saddest story of all of our dogs…we believe he was used in a dog fighting ring as bait and may have escaped…

“I was originally found by a group of construction workers late at night on the highway to Cancun- they were working on Train Maya and accidentally hit me with their truck. When they got out to check on me, I had my mouth taped shut with many deep wounds all over my body. I also had a badly broken and dislocated leg due to the accident. All this but I was still so happy to see people…

They took off the tape off my mouth and gave me water. They drove into the nearest town and dropped me off, then called the rescue to let them know where I was. The rescue was so full and overwhelmed, they said they couldn’t take me…but when they told them they would leave me on the street, and that I was in pain, the rescue couldn’t leave me to suffer…

Madi made the journey to come and find me. I hadn’t moved at all. I was so weak and in so much pain, I couldn’t walk. I let her scoop me up and we went to the vet. I got fluids and pain meds. Slowly I started to feel better and was able to walk and move about. Now it’s been a year and I am a playful, loving boy who is ready for a home!

I absolutely love people. I am good with some dogs (he loves his friend Maya) but very weary (likely because of my past) I would like to at least start off as the only dog in the home until I can gain some confidence around dogs and understand I don’t always need to protect myself. I haven’t had a chance to be around cats or kids yet- so maybe a home with neither might be best to start?

I walk just fine on my own, but my leg is crooked. I don’t know what this looks like long term, but I am not in pain for now and get around just fine! I would love a home with humans who are moderately active (Shorter walks to start!) but will challenge my brain with puzzles, new tricks and toys. I am very smart and so eager to please. I listen to made when she tells me to go. to my crate or to come out to go potty. I am very trainable and will need someone who can help me learn new things. I have minimal experience walking on leash so I would also like someone who can help me learn to be a good leash boy!

I have deep scars on my body, especially on my face. You can tell by looking at me I have been through so much but am so happy to be alive.

Please ask about me… I am so excited to meet you.”

  • Oso & Diamond

Born July 2024- Brother and Sister 33 - 35 lbs

We are brother and sister duo, Oso and Diamond ! Our mama, a notorious street dog near the rescue, has been living in the community for a quite some time… the rescue has tried to catch her to sterilize her, but it’s been extremely difficult and haven’t caught her yet… they caught us instead! Oops! Their plan was to sterilize us and put us back (too full to take anymore dogs) but we turned out to be so sweet and love human attention… street life just isn’t for us…

We are both very sweet, playful, eager to please, smart and food motivated.

Oso is the brave brother while Diamond is shy and takes longer to come out of her shell. Best together because Oso gives Diamond confidence and shows her how to be brave.

These pups would love a home who is willing and able to put in some training. They are smart and learn quickly but will need help to adjust to Canadian life. A yard and a less busy area would be ideal. So far we are great with other dogs and okay with cats. We have not been around small children yet

  • Nico- in Vancouver!

    Born Approx May 2023 - Male - 38 lbs

    Meet Nico!

Nico was found on the ground at just a few days old… he fought hard for his life for the first couple of weeks but he made it! After a few months of being with a foster family in Mexico, we were able to confirm a Canadian foster and nico flew to YVR! ✈️

Nico was terrified of everyone one and everything- he had an incredibly difficult time in his first few weeks. Luckily he found the most amazing foster family who gave him all the patience and understanding in the world. 💜 They worked with him to help him adjust as best they could… but that was a year ago… now the foster family is going traveling and Nico needs a place to go…🏠

He’s the sweetest bean once he builds trust with people- loves to play, snuggle and listen. He learns quickly and is full of personality. 🥰

That said, he needs to have oversight when meeting new people. He’s can be reactive off the hop and takes patience to work with in new situations - he’s fearful of many things! He’s good with other dogs, but needs to meet them with a muzzle on first. 🐶

This bean is leash trained, crate trained, eating kibble with a dash of tuna + pumpkin. He’s great with people and dogs once he gets over the hump of meeting them. 💜

Although Nico has a high energy level, he also can nap all day long! He’s flexible with your schedule.

Nico is currently working with a dog walker to learn new leash skills and understand that the big world is not all scary!🐶

He loves adventure and is an amazing hiking/camping/road tripping dude, all of which he has been able to do with his foster fam!🥰

Nico is definitely looking for a counterpart who will respect his boundaries, advocate for his safety and show up as a compassionate leader. His ideal home would be a house, with a fenced in yard, in a quieter neighbourhood.

  • Oyitos

    Born Approx Jan 2022 - Male - 42 lbs

Are you looking for a peaceful and loyal friend? This is your guy.

Oyitos came to the rescue after being involved in an accident. He was found on the road with a broken hip after being hit by a car. He had been in the same spot for days and had cigarette burns in his paws. Unable to move, he just laid in the road dying. Finally someone came and brought him to the rescue.

After a Go-Fund-Me, we were able to get Oyitos the surgery he needed on his hip. (Ask us to see the x-ray!) After a few months, Oyitos seems good as new! He does everything a regular dog does, but does not jump up (bonus?)

Oyitos is the calm in the storm and the sweetest boy. He loves to greet and is very patient with all the puppies at the rescue. He lights up when humans come to see him and just stares deepy in their eyes and wags his little stump.

Oyitos is heartworm positive and needs to be on monthly preventative until he is cleared.

Please reach out to learn more about this amazingly resilient and special boy!

  • Cebolla

    Born Approx Feb 2024 - Male - 30 lbs

Hello world! We are 4 siblings pups looking for homes ♥️ Here’s our story…

Our mom was a street doggie. The locals knew her, and she wasn’t welcome… they kicked her and threw rocks at her 😔She wandered looking for a place to give birth and ended up in a yard. When the owner found us, he threw us in the street…thankfully another kinda neighbour saw and took us all in. She asked the rescue to vaccinate us and said she would find us homes. But when we went for out vaccination appointments, the neighbour never came back… 😞

Now we are in a foster home and hoping to find homes or fosters in Vancouver! We are all loving, cuddly pups who will likely be medium sized doggies (our mama is about 15kl)

Cebolla is described by his foster dad as: Cuddly, shy and affectionate.

  • Pinky

    Born Approx June 2023 - Male - 37 lbs

    Hello I’m Pinky! 🐷

I was found on the street a few months ago by a teenage girl who wanted to help me. She was hiding me from her mom and giving me scraps in her room- I got a bad infection and the teenager called the rescue. They got me vet care and placed me with my foster mommy. ♥️

My foster mom says im sweet and shy. I’m timid around new dogs and people but once I warm up, I am a love sponge who wants to cuddle and be held. 😇

I’m learning to walk on a leash and am getting good! I might bark at other doggies in fear but seem to ignore cars, bikes or people. I am crate trained and potty trained. I’m currently living with 12 other doggos and get along with everyone, all shapes and sizes. 🥰

I absolutely LOVE my foster mom and dad but it does take me a little bit to warm up to new people. When the volunteer came to visit me, i cowered and barked at her but I was on her lap cuddling in 30 minutes- I needed to make sure she was a safe person first!! (She gave me lots of treats and sat on the floor with me)🐶♥️

I’m a tall and skinny doggo, foster mommy thinks I might be a Xolo-mix because of my spots, ears and body shape! 🐕

Im vaccinated, sterilized, heart worm tested and ready to come to Canada! ✈️

My ideal home would be quiet to start to allow me to get comfy and into a routine. I’ve never been around kids and my foster mom thinks I could be nervous with young ones- I wouldn’t mind a home with another confident dog to show me the ropes, but a home solo would be okay too if my parents could have patience with me to adjust. 🏠

  • Frijolitos

Born Approx August 2023- Male - 39 lbs

Hi, my name is Frijolitos which means "little beans". ♥️🐕

I was born in the jungle to street parents. My foster mom says my mom is feral & difficult to trap & fix, and I'm a result of her constant pregnancies. 😔I popped out of the jungle next to my mommy on one of my foster moms feeding routines…I was so happy to see her and didn’t want to leave her side - she took me in right away.

I’m currently living in a doggie daycare/ boarding facility. My foster mom tried to take me to the rescue, but they are just too full…Thankfully she found this place to keep me off the street and safe! They have been letting me stay for free, but my time here is here is running out… the owners want the space I take up for doggies who can pay…😔

My foster mom even got professional photos of me to show what a handsome gentleman I am! But still..no one has noticed me…

I am super friendly with the new dogs that come to the daycare and they call me the ‘welcome committee of one’! 😇 I love to welcome new doggies and let them they are safe. I love to run & play with all my fur family. When it comes to people am nervous and need time to trust. I get quiet and try to hide when I meet humans.

Im ready to fly to Canada 🐕 and find my forever home so my foster mom can make room for someone else but I need a home that will be patient with me help me decompress at my own speed.♥️
